A lot of people think they need a lot of money to get started to making money online. While having a bit of startup cash can certainly help it is definitely possible to get started without spending dime. You just have to get creative. I’m going to teach you how to make $100 a day with free websites.
While ideally you will want to pay for website hosting and a domain name, I’m going to show you how you can get started with a free website from Wix.com. Wix is a free website builder that you can use to easily make a variety of beautiful websites fast including blogs, ecommerce stores, photography, portfolio sites and more.
How To Make $100 A Day With Free Websites
In this post I’m going to show you step-by-step how to create a new money making website for free! We’re going to focus on creating a niche website and monetizing it with affiliate links that can get you making $100 per day easily.
The Basics
So here is everything you need to get started:
That’s it. Just four basic steps to get you up and running. I’ll go into each step in more detail so you can follow along.
Choosing A Niche
In case you didn’t know, a niche is a category or interest in a certain topic such as losing weight, or fishing, or drones. Choosing your niche is very important. You don’t want to just choose something super generic like “weight loss“. You will get lost in the vast ocean of the internet with almost no chance of being discovered.
You want to zero in on a specific sub-category within that broad topic such as “weight loss for men over 40“. When you focus in on something specific you will have a much better chance of having your site found by people looking for that topic.
A good way to get ideas is just to browse the various departments on Amazon.com. Think of what could be a good topic from there, which leads us to our next step.
Finding Products To Promote As An Affiliate
Once you’ve chosen your specific sub-niche you need to find something to promote. If it’s something that has lots of physical products available for it then Amazon.com is your best bet. You can sign up as an affiliate under their Amazon Associates program. It just takes a few minutes to get setup then you’re off to the races.
As an affiliate you earn a commission for promoting other peoples products. The customer doesn’t pay any extra, you just get a little kickback for helping someone make a sale they otherwise wouldn’t have gotten, in this case it’s Amazon.
Once you’ve signed up you can browse Amazon like normal, but you will notice a bar at the top of your screen. This is called the Amazon Associates SiteStripe.
Search Amazon for some products related to your niche that you think would help your audience.
When you find a product you want to promote click “Get Link” on the SiteStripe. This is your affiliate link. When someone clicks it and makes a purchase you get a commission. Save this and use that affiliate link for your promotions.
One of the great things about Amazon’s affiliate program is that once someone clicks your link Amazon will track that user for 24 hours and of they buy anything during that time you will get a percentage of the sale!
They don’t even have to buy the product you promote. If you promote a supplement that a user clicks your link for, but they end up buying a couple books, some clothes and a new TV you will get a a cut of the sale!
Setup A Website
Now that you’ve chosen your niche and found some products to promote you need a website. Head on over to Wix and create a free account. The email address you use will be part of the domain name, so you might want to create a new email address related to your niche and use that to sign up. So instead of using your personal email like “bobsyouruncle@gmail.com” create an email address like “weightlossover40@gmail.com”. If you want you can purchase a proper domain through Wix for $14.95 dollars a year.
Once you’ve created your account choose the type of website you want to create. For this example we’re going to create a blog.
Now you’re given a couple of options on how to design your site.
You can choose to design your site from a pre-existing template and customize it with the editor or let Wix design it for you with Wix ADI. Keep it simple and fast and let Wix ADI do it’s thing. Just answer a few simple questions and Wix ADI will design your site for you!
You can create a simple logo in Canva and add any social media channels you might create for it.
Now choose a style for your blog. You can always change the style later on. Right now I’m going to choose Clean.
Wix ADI will ask you a couple more questions like choosing a color pallet and stuff. Then it will crunch away and in no time you will have a beautiful site!
The Wix ADI has done the basics and designed a simple home page and added a few sample blog posts. You can click on each section and change the design for it, such as the header section. Or if you don’t like the overall style you can change the entire design by changing the theme.
I’m liking how this is looking so far, so I’m going to just go ahead and edit some of the blog posts. You can do this by hovering over the blog section and clicking “Manage”.
You’ll be given an overview of all your posts, with stars next to the ones which are Featured posts. You can also create new posts, edit current posts, duplicate or delete posts. Let’s edit a post.
Since we’re creating a money making niche site you want to fill it with content related to your niche. But not just anything will do. You want to provide valuable content that people will want to read.
This means you will have to put on your thinking cap and do a bit of research. If you have the cash you could even outsource your content on sites like Fivrr or Upwork, but this article is all about doing things for free so you have to put in the time and effort yourself.
If it’s a topic you’re already familiar with you shouldn’t have too much trouble. If it’s something you don’t know about, Google and reviews on Amazon are your friends.
Here are a few ideas of topics for your posts:
We are trying to tune our content for Search Engine Optimization (SEO) Choose a keyword (a phrase) people would actually be searching for. Focus it around the product you’re trying to promote and get into detail. A quick 500 word post won’t cut it. You want to provide real value, and make it worth while.
I suggest articles with a minimum of 1500 words. This is because longer articles attract they eyes of Google and other search engines. Their spiders and bots will scan your articles and deem if they are filled with valuable content or not and that will determine how well you rank when people search for your keyword.
Think of what attracts you. If you come across a site filled with short fluff content you don’t really care about it too much. But if you find a site that has longer articles filled with great tips and insights you start to view it as an authority site. You enjoy reading articles on that site and look forward to new posts.
That is your goal for this site. To become an authority in your niche.
Put your keywords in the title, first couple sentences, and several other times throughout your article. Don’t just spam your post with the exact same phrase over and over. Use variations of your keyword and make it seem natural.
You don’t want to write for search engines, you want to write for people. Google favors content that people enjoy reading. If you write great articles that engages your readers then they will share it and that will help raise your content in the search results.
Make sure you include some good quality images in your post. Some good product images from Amazon the product manufacture help. You can also use some free stock images directly from Wix or a site like Pixabay.
Don’t forget to include your affiliate links a few times throughout the article. Include it when the product is first mentioned. Make a photo a clickable link. And include a couple calls to action like “Find out more about product X here”.
Generating Traffic
Having great written content will help your articles show up in search engines (SEO) which is a fantastic way to get organic traffic, but it won’t happen overnight. Here are some tips on how to drive more viewers to your content.
Youtube
Did you know that Youtube is the second largest search engine next to Google? You can create videos and post them on YouTube. In the video, just like your written articles, you want to provide value. It could be a compliment to a post, or even just a video version of your post content. Make it engaging so people will want to watch.
One good idea is to have a blog post about “10 tips for using X”, then create a video featuring only 5 of those tips. At the end of your video tell the viewer to go check out your blog to learn another 5 tips!
You should mention your keywords in the title of your video, as well as the description, tags and other meta data.
Be sure to have several calls to actions. Mention the product and how people can get it through your link in the description and on your blog post. Be sure to link to your post in the description.
Once the video is up you can also embed it into your blog post. This helps increase the authority score by Google and other search engines as your article being good content.
Pintrest
Pintrest can be a great source of traffic if you feel you have a shareable article. Use a tool like Canva to create a nice Pintrest style picture and link it back to your post.
Join some related Pintrest groups and share your pin. Be sure to re-pin other peoples pins so you don’t get banned.
Reddit can also be a good source of traffic. Find some related Reddit groups and answer questions linking back to your post. As always, try to provide value, don’t just say “Check this out”. You won’t get many clicks that way.
Keep at it and you will drive some decent traffic to your site.
Any Other Social Sharing Channels
People are social beings. And social media is a fantastic way to get word out about your articles.
Mention your articles on Facebook, post a great pic on Instagram, tweet about it on Twitter, and so on and so forth.
Before long you will have a lots of people coming to your site to check out your articles. And if you provided real value many of them will click your links and make a purchase.
Conclusion
It takes some effort but you can be making $100 a day or more in no time.
As I mentioned before, if you really want to increase your authority you will at least want to purchase a domain name. It’s dirt cheap and will add a lot of credibility to your site.
So that’s it. Put in some effort and you can be making money in very little time. And the great thing is it’s on the web so it will stay there as long as you have it up.
If you want to kick things up to the next level you will want to consider adding email marketing to your site. Again you can start for free and it allows you to collect a list of leads that you can continue to market to for years to come.
Website visitors can vanish just as quickly as they come, but a list of email leads is an asset you can have for years to come. Once people are on your list you don’t have to pay to promote to them again.
