Russell starts off stressing that if you’re serious about making this work you have to treat it more than a hobby. While you can definitely start making money and get things going without too much effort, the more you treat it like a business, the faster your results will come.

With that in mind here are his 5 steps to becoming a Clickfunnels super affiliate.

This is the most important step. You need to choose what group of people you want to serve. What do they need that you can help with.

Don’t just think about surface ideas, drill down deeper into how Clickfunnels can help a specific niche within that niche.

Russell gives the example of how when he started he really spread the word about the importance of sales funnels. It’s something that had been used for years and is necessary for every industry, but it was something that just wasn’t spoken about very much. But because of his message it has come to the forefront of the marketing community.

As such the “Blue Ocean” market that was not very crowded, has become saturated with tons of other people talking about the importance of sales funnels, and has now become a “Red Ocean”.

Your job is to find a sub-niche which isn’t saturated in which you can apply funnels to, a new Blue Ocean: Funnels for dentist, funnels for network marketers, restaurants, chiropractors, etc.

Don’t be the one-size-fits-all marketer. You will get drowned out in the crowd of other “me too” markets. Get specific on the market segment you want to serve and you can help them much better.

Gone are the days when you can just send people straight to the landing page for the product. You need to create something of value to get people to trust you. Think about what kind of funnel you can create for your market.

Then you create a very simple two-page funnel. Russell likes to work backwards and create the second page of the funnel first.

The second page acts as a bridge page explaining how your offer connects to your market. This is where you deliver the “Ah-Ha!” moment for the visitor.

One of the greatest features of Clickfunnels is the ability to share funnels you’ve created. On the bridge page you say “Hey I’ve already built one of these funnels for you. Click down below and I’ll give you this funnel for free! If you don’t yet have a Clickfunnels account, here’s a link for a 14-day free trial”.

Now you go back to your first page and pitch your offer “Free video shows how Chiropractors can use funnels to grow their practice.” or “How I use funnels to get 200 new leads in the past 30 day”. Target your market.

Your target audience will enter their email address to get access to the free video and get taken to page 2 which has the video and gives them the free share funnel.

Now two things have happened. You’ve now acquired their email address so you can market to them in the future, and you’ve gotten them to join Clickfunnels as your affiliate.

Just because you’ve built a website funnel does not mean you will automatically get people to see it. You have to drive traffic to your page.

There are both free and paid ways to get traffic. Free takes time and is slow, paid is fast but cost money. What you choose depends on what you feel comfortable doing and budgetary restraints.

Russel explains that paid ads, such as Facebook Ads, are a long term investment. Some people spend money on ads and are disappointed when they don’t make their money back right away.

As I mentioned in step two you’ve now got a persons email address. This allows you to follow up with them via an autoresponder and drive them back to your original offer and other offers over the following days, weeks, months or even years!

It may take 3, 5, 8 days, but you will eventually make your money back. After that anything else you make is pure profit!

The purpose of ads is simply to build your list.

Not everyone will signup for Clickfunnels right away. But you can follow up with value, build trust and make other offers.

There are many other things you can promote within the Clickfunnels affiliate program that can help them on their journey.

This is the breaking point.

You spend a dollar on ads to get people on your list. They might not buy right away but you followup with relevant offers and within a few days some people will buy and you will not only recoup your advertising costs, but become profitable!

Not only that, you never have to pay to advertise to that person again! Every time you send an email to them it’s free, and the more they buy it’s pure profit for you!

This is called “The Golden Sequence.”

Know that if you spend $100 in ads, within a certain number of days you can make $500 back!

The standard average for email marketing is $1 per month per person on your list. If your work on it and improve your game you can earn $2, $3, $5, $10+!

The Autoresponder follow up should be at least 8-10 days long. Then you can send out Broadcasts.

Keep this one thing in mind:

ALWAYS FOCUS ON BUILDING YOUR LIST!

It doesn’t matter what anyone else will tell you, BUILD YOUR LIST!

You may be tempted to try other “sexier” things. But with a list you have an asset you can rely on.

Your business can crash tomorrow, or maybe you will need money for a down payment on a house, or you want a new car, you can send a broadcast email to your list and make money!

Your list is your business!

If you lose everything today, you can rebuild it from your list.

All the assets you are creating are geared towards building your list.

Your autoresponder sequence can be as short or as long as you like. It’s used to build initial trust, provide value and promote some offers. You continue to build trust, provide value and promote offers through broadcast emails.

Some people wonder how often they should send emails to their list? The best answer is this:

“Anytime you want to make money”
